Monnet School - Grade 1b
Observation: Week of February 12 - February 16
The teacher gives clear instructions to the students before doing the activity, then asks random students if they can repeat what needs to be done. Finally, she asks everyone if the instructions are clear.
Reflection
Clear and precise instructions help young learners to understand what is expected of them. This reduces confusion and anxiety and allows them to concentrate on the task at hand. If instructions are ambiguous or confusing, learners can become frustrated and demotivated. On the other hand, if they have a clear understanding of what they are being asked to do, they can make informed decisions about how to approach the task and organise their time efficiently. Also, when students are given clear instructions and manage to complete tasks successfully, they feel competent and confident in their abilities. This boosts their self-esteem and motivates them to remain actively engaged in the learning process. Finally, giving young learners good instructions is essential for their holistic development. Not only does it provide them with the structure and support they need to create a good learning environment, but it also instils in them a sense of responsibility.
