3. OBSERVATION – CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

Monnet School -  Grade 1b Observation: Week of February 5 -  February 9 The teacher has good control of the room, gives them the freedom to work and talk, but does not allow students' voices to be too loud or to yell.   Then a student is not paying attention, the teacher tells him/her to sit down or do as requested.   On the other hand, if the student is talking, the teacher lets him/her know that it is disrespectful and that everyone is waiting for his/her time to speak.  Also, when students are sitting on the carpet and are moving around a lot or fidgeting, the teacher keeps quiet and explains how they should sit so they don't get tired.  She sees that a group of students is talking, she asks them in an appropriate manner to change places.   Reflection   Proper classroom management is fundamental to creating an effective and positive learning environment.  First, a well-managed classroom environment prov...

2. OBSERVATION – CLASSROOM ROUTINES

Monnet School -   Grade 1b   Observation: Week of January 29 - february 2                                                            The Classroom rules are in the door.  These lessons have been about imagination, and music.  The students arrive early, and every time they arrive they greet everyone, and even inside the classroom, if someone arrives, they also greet the teacher who has entered.  A song plays in the school, which signals to the students that it is time to start class or that class is over. In their free time, they can go wherever they want, but they must be in the classroom at class time (when the song plays).  On the other hand, if the students talk too much or have lost concentration, the teacher uses a technique, which is to sing a song, and they start singing alon...

1. OBSERVATION- CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT

Monnet School -  Grade 1b Observation: Week of  January 3 - January 10 Seating arrangement: The students had English every day for three to two hours a week, depending on the day.  However, I noticed that they do a lot of extracurricular activities (such as going to museums, preparing food, festivals, etc.) so they don't always have that time for their English lessons.  The objectives of the lessons were to develop their imagination, so in the classes I observed they read a book and in the following classes they did activities related to history, to be able to decipher how a story is made, in the end they made their own story.  The school uses a project-based teaching method, whereby the children focus on one topic for a month and a half, and deal with various subtopics, and these months have been about imagination.  The activities that the children have done during the project are hung in the classroom. The teacher also makes use of materials such as pictu...

English Phonetics

We all have different experiences with learning and teaching English and different needs What are your experiences, needs, hopes and   dreams for the English phonetics  course? I haven't had any experience in learning phonetics, but it is a subject that really appeals to me. I would really like to learn how to read phonemes so that I can improve my pronunciation, as I have struggled to know how to pronounce words since I started learning languages. I also hope that this course will give me the knowledge to teach my students the pronunciation of words and sentences in the best way possible.
